Leadership Team

Dear Pequannock Valley School Families,

The 2025-2026 school year is here and Pequannock Valley School is excited to welcome our students back to what is sure to be an exciting and fun-filled educational experience. It is always a pleasure to meet the students on the first day and prepare them for a year filled with Knowledge, Spirit and Promise

As we progress through the year, we will put the Pillars of Character at the forefront of what we do both in the classroom and out. Our theme this year is “Build a Legacy of Greatness” and we will focus on the importance of leaving a lasting, positive impression on the building and community. This message and subsequent activities will conclude with the opening of a time capsule that was buried in front of PV in June 2001. Former students and staff tasked the members of PV school in 2026 with opening the capsule and continuing the tradition to be opened again 25 years later. We look forward to sharing more information in the coming months.

Middle School is a time that allows our students to learn and understand the importance of responsibility both in school and out. At 6th grade orientation, we discussed the Pillars of Character. We focused on the importance of being accountable for all decisions we make both as an individual and as a group.  Everything that everyone does each day in the building should be connected back to one of the 6 pillars: Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, and Respect. Those actions will set all of us on the path to build our own legacy of greatness.

A crucial component in making all of the above possible is being present each day. I am happy to share that we reduced chronic absenteeism (18 or more total absences) from 7.5% to 4.4% last school year. In addition, we cut tardiness to school by 16.4%. Our parents play a crucial role in getting our students to school each day, so we truly thank you for your efforts, and please remember that ATTENDANCE MATTERS.

The success of Pequannock Valley School is up to all of us as a community. The home and school connection is one of the most important components to a successful middle school experience and we look forward to continuing that collaboration this year. Although we cannot promise you the grades you want for your child, we can promise you we will be responsive to your questions and concerns. We are a community of learners and cannot be successful unless we all work together to help our students achieve success in all that they do. If ever you feel that is not the case, we encourage you to contact us.

We wish you the best of luck as we work together to ensure that all of our students are doing their best to build a legacy of greatness. Go Panthers!

Sincerely,

John Seborowski                            David Raffo
